Art, among many things, runs through my veins. My family is full of professionally trained artists in diverse media and materials, and I have also been creating my whole life. Still, academically I chose the life of a humanitarian. In my late 30s, as my health needed some attention, I returned to the arts while recuperating, and I have yet to look back.
For an impatient artist like me, acrylics are lovely and just as colorful and brilliant as oils. Watercolors are my second choice, and with both media, I choose abstract. I like the freedom and the mystery of the unknown; my hands seem to take charge of my mind in this process. Street and documentary photography is also a passion, particularly for children. The innocence in their eyes and the spirit of their souls I feel best when I can capture those elements in my photos.
